a deserved tribute
In 2008, the new theater at the Waldorf Rudolf Steiner School was inaugurated, with around 500 seats. This is a school project., whose construction took many years and required great efforts. We are publishing the news here in the midst of our projects because the theater was named after Ruth Salles, in the year of her 80th birthday, as a tribute to the work she did for the school and for Waldorf Pedagogy in Brazil.
The author has worked on at least 130 theater texts for all grades of elementary school. He adapted plays by Schiller, translated and adapted Shakespeare and Calderón de La Barca. He recreated, in Portuguese, the librettos of the operas “Bastien e Bastiene” and “The Magic Flute”, by Mozart, of “Orfeu”, by Monteverdi, among other works.
Today there are more than 50 years of work creating, translating and adapting texts, poems, jesters, plays and books that have already been used to enrich the education of thousands of children and young people and countless Waldorf elementary schools, in Brazil and in other Portuguese-speaking countries.
