Movement for Humanizing Education (MOVEH)

We are a group of people and organizations dedicated to promoting the development of human beings capable of building a society based on a culture of peace, cultural freedom, economic fraternity, equal rights and opportunities, respect for all differences and sustainability. environmental.

We created the MOVEMENT FOR HUMANIZING EDUCATION to bring together educators, educators, schools and organizations committed to an integral and emancipatory education, as each human being is an end in itself, with the right to its own individuality and to create its own path. We need to unite, put the topic under discussion in society, share research, theories and experiences, and propose humanizing pedagogical practices for education.

Humanizing Education is understood to be one that respects the individuality of children and adolescents, maturity for the educational process, strengthens self-esteem, encourages the achievement of autonomy and aims at their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual development. Its realization depends on the actions of families, teachers and other professionals who work in public and private schools, in civil society organizations, health professionals and all people who play a role in this process.

We believe that every child has the right to be loved and welcomed by the society to which they belong, to be respected and valued as an individual, and to be able to grow up in contact with nature. Society and schools have a duty to provide each child and young person with a healthy social learning environment, so that they grow up confident and aware of their rights and duties, capable of overcoming the appeals of consumerism and acting with creativity in favor of of a more just, fraternal, inclusive and sustainable world.

The COVID-19 pandemic that is hitting us right now is reaffirming how we, human beings, depend on each other and how harmful the deep inequality that permeates our society is. This scenario of social fragility and increasing environmental degradation foreshadow a future of uncertainty and reinforce the need to rethink education as a crucial issue for humanity and the sustainability of the planet.

Therefore, we invite all people and organizations that share these same ideals and purposes to join in this MOVEMENT FOR HUMANIZING EDUCATION.
