poem in Anapesto rhythm (short-short-long)

by Ruth Salles

Anapesto: vv___ (short-short-long). Release the tongue. It opens listening and awakens the look. The rhythm carries us, releasing us from our limitations. It works in the same way as the jambo, only more slowly.

THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CRYSTAL

Where go this King? He sawell where go?
Where go no parare, to thelook, the serto laugh?

He goes looking for immortal life
that will come from a light of the most beautiful crystal.

It was an angel from heaven who told him the secret.
Where does this king go, without sword and without fear?

A boy cried, and the king consoled
– it was hunger, it was cold – and she took care of him.

A lost sheep bleats in pain,
and the king led her, led her to the shepherd.

And he broke his robe, he spread it on his arm,
and whoever cloak had not won a piece.

And the stones in your crown set
to the poorest, little by little, were also given.

And a little boy, looking, smiling,
pulled him by the arm, asking, asking.

And he gave at last his kingship ring.
And he was no longer king, and he was nothing else.

And then, in the boy, he saw at last
a light shining from the most beautiful crystal.

And nothing else was lacking for the king who, without fear,
I wanted to follow the path of that secret.
