the four little brothers

In a hidden cave
there in the kingdom of the elves
lived four little brothers,
all very different.

A skinny one, the Good One,
always wearing blue,
I kept nothing in my pocket,
his job was to donate.

Another, the Generous,
dressed in red,
so fair and hardworking
his goods were all divided.

Chubby and smiling,
green was your color,
I gathered everything I saw,
was the Collector.

In yellow, the Leaper,
every thing I scratched at,
jumping here and there,
of quantity increased.

And from your kingdom, the goblins
came to teach us
to subtract, divide
add and multiply.
