poem by Ruth Salles
Author's suggestion: Half the class is seated; the other moves. Then take turns. In the first part of the game, those who are moving take 3 hops to the desk of the colleague who is sitting, shake hands and return to their place. In the second part, they go around the room greeting everyone who is seated.
SALUTING THE NEIGHBORHOOD
if I gave three little hops,
would soon arrive
to the neighbor's house.
I arrived. now then
that I extend to you the hand
and give you, so,
my greeting.
AND, when I finish
such a gesture friend,
saying goodbye to you,
with three jumps
I can come back
to my corner.
if now I walked
– whoever walks does not get tired –
maybe then it would pass
all over the neighborhood.
"Hi! Hello! Hello!"
“I take my hat off!”
“And I wave the handkerchief!”
"May the sun shine in the sky!
may God give them health!
I say and I also think!”
When I anyway to arrive
back to my place,
I stop well sitting
and I stay calm.
