Pedagogical exhibition shows the results

In 2007, the project continued in the municipality, with partial sponsorship from Associação Beneficente Tobias and Fundação Software AG, from Germany. About 70 class hours were given to teachers of kindergarten and elementary school, in two parallel classes, in several meetings during the year. The work culminated with a pedagogical exhibition held at the end of the school year, where notebooks and other works carried out by the students of the participants in the project were exposed.

The training was carried out by teachers from Escola Aitiara, in Botucatu. For early childhood education, Marisa Cristina dos Santos and Sandra Regina Schorn act as trainers, and for primary education, Karla Christine de Figueiredo Neves, Valquiria Cassimiro da Silva and Matthias Zaeslin.

Acquired experience

This work in 2006 and 2007 allowed us to reach the following conclusions:

When teachers experience with their children the benefits of a job proposal, they strive to maintain and deepen it. In this municipality, the kindergarten teachers had already had an introduction to Waldorf pedagogy 8 years before we started our work. As they liked the results very much, they maintained the proposal for 8 years without any other external support. When we started the project in 2006 we had a very good reception.

Just the fact that all teachers and coordinators in the municipality participate in the project is not enough to guarantee a successful 100%. When we started implementing the project with elementary school teachers, we ran into a political problem. Some teachers sympathizing with the opposition party remained refractory to the changes oriented by the new secretary of education, which hampered the use of part of the group.
