The ant, the dove and the hunter

Aesop's fable

An ant fell into the water, and would have drowned if a kind dove had not tossed him a tree branch as a lifeline. Just then, a hunter arrives and prepares his weapon to shoot the dove. The ant, seeing this, and the danger that his benefactress was running, hurries his step and goes to give a strong sting to the hunter's foot, forcing him to turn his face away and drop the arrow. With the noise it made, the dove was warned of the danger it was in and ran away.
