Play based on the eponymous poem by Robert Reinick.

by Ruth Salles

The child asks the sun, the bird and the wind for help so that the apple falls from the branch. Which one can?

CHARACTERS: Choirs / Apple tree with apple / Child / Sun / Bird / Wind.

The choir sings and speaks along with everyone. Each
character stands out from the chorus when
your time. The apple tree stands on its side and sways
take with the apple.

CHORUS (sing):
“Oh, beautiful apple! who will get
let it fall from its branch,
where do you rock to sleep?”

CHORUS 1:
– Beautiful apple on the apple tree,
with a red cheek,
made his bed in the green rama
and, swinging, it packs itself.
Up there, coming and going,
It is clear that he is already sleeping.

CHORUS 2 (while the child stands out):
- A child, at that time,
down here, ask:

CHILD (in front of the apple tree):
- Come, little apple, fall now.
and then go to sleep!
(to the public):
– I ask that I ask, I call that I call,
and who said she fell?
Didn't even move in the green branch
and in her sleep she even smiled!

CHORUS 1 (as the sun passes):
– So, in the sky, the sun passing
was listening to the sad complaint:

KID:
– Oh beautiful sun, dear sun,
make that apple move!

SUN:
- Yes, may I help! As I pass,
I come down from the sky a ray of mine
and a light kiss on the rosy cheek…
(he touches the apple with outstretched arm)

CHORUS 2 (very slowly):
– But the apple… didn’t… even… move.

CHORUS 1 (while the little bird stands out from the chorus):
– In this, a bird flies from the nest
and comes to land very close by.

KID:
- Sing, sing, my little bird!
So, who knows, the apple awakens!

BIRDIE:
- May I help! I train my throat
and I release my song with all my breath.
(he sings) "Twee-pee-pee-pee..."

CHORUS 2:
— But the apple, while he sings,
falls into a more drowsy sleep.

CHORUS 1 (while the wind detaches and rushes past):
– Who passes now and flutters?

WIND:
– I am the wind, which comes suddenly,
who neither kisses nor sings with grace,
but that blows in a different tone.

CHORUS 2 (while the wind represents what is said):
– Oh! He put his hands on his hips
and your cheeks are already swollen,
and it blows so much from the heights
the apple wakes up scared.
(The apple jumps into the child's hands)

ALL (sing):
“The apple fell at the right moment.
The child thanks:
“Thank you so much, Mister Wind!”
