Aesop's fable
The owner of a kitchen where some mice lived had a beautiful cat, such a good hunter that it was always on the lookout, so that the poor mice could not even get out of the holes, not even in the silence and darkness of the night, for they were very afraid of the enemy.
They could not live like this any longer, for they lacked food. One day, they met in a council to decide on a way to end that sad situation, which had irrevocably condemned them to death.
– “I will tell them what to do”, said a very young mouse. "A rattle is tied around the cat's neck, and we will know where he is going."
This ingenious proposal made all the mice jump for joy; but an old and very clever mouse observed maliciously:
– “Very well, but tell me: who puts the bell around the cat’s neck?”
None responded!
